BIOYokko (MFA, RYT200 in Vinyasa Flow, RYT 100 in Therapeutic, RYT Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, Jikiden Reiki Master Teacher, Yoga Nidra) completed her RYT 200 hour Vinyasa training at Finiding Sukah Yoga School (Sarah Coleman & Shawn Granato) in 2011, and her RYT 100 Therapeutic Yoga at Pure Yoga (Dana Slamp & Jon Witt) in 2013. She received Jikiden Reiki certification in 2018 (Siina Saotome) in Tokyo, then she received Yoga Nidra Teacher training with Yogi Charu via Bakti center in 2021 and Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher certification in 2023 through Prema Yoga Institute in NYC.
Yokko has been teaching yoga since 2011, offering Vinyasa Flow, Slow Flow, Yin/Yang classes at Grace & St. Paul Church, Finding Sukah Yoga School, Center for Remembering & Sharing (CRS), ABC Sanctuary, Actors Studio MFA program, BefitNYC, and Movement Improvement Physical Therapy. She held the Yoga Workshop "Slow Flow Yoga and Live music" at CRS in 2014. She also created the Yoga curriculum in 12 weeks physical theatre course at The Ume Group School since 2015. Currently her regular class is at Movement Improvement in Brooklyn Heights, also she works with private clients based on their needs. She has been studying / training: Vinyasa Flow, Slow Flow, Yin/Yang, Ashtanga, Kundalini, meditation, Nidra, Paranayama, Ayuvada. One of the best things happened in my life was meeting Yoga and its philosophy. In the beginning of my yoga training I was into more athletic style of Yoga, and wanted to be better at it. However, the gift I have received from yoga is surrendering, and breathing in a moment. I appreciate physical practice affects my mind and spirit. In 2013, I met therapeutic Yoga. This blew my mind, and that is the moment I felt more need to share and offer the practice with people who need. Especially studying Ayuvada has been changing the way I see the the world, and I am very excited to be influenced my teaching by it. She is also performing / teaching artist specialized in Butoh (a Japanese contemporary dance), Pure Movement, Acting, Dance, Clowning, Martial Arts, Physical Theatre, Japanese Classic Dance. |
